Handbell Camp

(3rd-12th Grade)
July 9-13, 2012 9a.m.-12p.m.

Handbell Camp is intended for students entering 3rd-12th grades.

The participants will be divided into groups according to ability and experience.  Instruction groups, directed by Jan Weiser, will be held at First Presbyterian Church in the Adult Choir room and the Youth Choir room.  Activities include music reading games, bell ringing techniques and concert preparation.  Snacks are provided.  The cost for this entire week of fun is only $15.

Fine Arts Workshop

(ages 10 and up)
July 16-20, 2012 9a.m.-12:30p.m.

In it's third year, this faith-based Fine Arts Workshop is offered to 15 participants who are 10 years old and up and are interested in advancing their skills in drawing and painting.  There will be a unique opportunity for artistic expression of music culminating with the student's art exhibited in conjunction with the Orchestra Camp concert on the evening of July 20th at 7:00 p.m.  Instructors will be professional artists and art teachers from our community.  The cost of this camp is $80.  All supplies as well as a daily snack are included.

Orchestra Camp

(6th grade-college-age)
July 16-20, 2012 9a.m.-3p.m.

This camp is for intermediate and advanced instrumentalists, middle school through college-age.  For five days students will engage in individual and group instruction and the five days will conclude with an evening concert, allowing students to perform with professional coaches in a city-wide ensemble.  Students will have the opportunity to perform solos, duets, or quartets, and to receive expert instruction throughout the week.  This provides a non-threatening, fun, musical experience which incorporates both sacred and classical music to the glory of God.  The coaching staff will be comprised of teachers from the community and members of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.  The cost of this camp, which includes a daily snack, is $75.
