Essential Tenets of the Reformed Faith (5 weeks)
Click here to register online for Essential Tenets of the Reformed Faith.
We live in the midst of a culture which is full of confusion. As Presbyterians, what do we believe are the essentials of our faith? When we are asked what it means to be reformed, how do we answer? And how do those beliefs transfer into our everyday lives? This is a class open to everyone and those who are leaders and teachers at FPC are especially encouraged to participate. Led by Jim Singleton

The Land of the Bible, (6 weeks beginning January 25th)
Click here to register for The Land of the Bible.
All those stories from the Bible – the historical narratives, the great sermons, the miracles, the battles – happened for real, in real places. Many of those places are in the land of Israel. This class will survey some of the geography of the land and some of the finds of archeology, and connect the dots between those places and the pages of Scripture. This class will be good preparation for those who plan to visit Israel on the Holy Lands trip in March, 2012. Led by Joe Farrell
Session 2: Feb 15- March 21
(Classes will not meet during the Ash Wednesday service, February 22nd.)
The Inspiration and Authority of the Bible (5 weeks)
Click here to register online for The Inspiration and Authority of the Bible.
The inspiration and authority of the Holy Bible has always been of central importance to followers of Christ – perhaps now more than ever. This course begins by considering why evangelical Christians believe the Bible to be inspired by God followed by an examination of the way in which it is authoritative in the life of the believer. It goes on to assess the reliability of various approaches to its interpretation, focusing upon the promises that God has given us in the Bible along with his expectations of us. It concludes with an examination of the pros and cons of various translations. Led by Bill Hodson, Educator
Introduction to Spiritual Formation (5 weeks)
Click here to register online for Introduction to Spiritual Formation.
Salvation is not just an event or a transaction, it is a life lived in Christ. How is Christ formed within us, and how do we go deeper with Jesus each day? Together we will discover the role of spiritual disciplines in each of our lives as well as practice some basic disciplines. If you are hungering for more of Christ during this Lenten season, this class is designed for you. Led by Rick Funk, Shelley McBride and Audrey Houghton, Christian Formation Team Members
Jesus at the Movies (5 weeks)

Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" It is a question that has been answered in various ways in film. During this five week class, we will view scenes from movies in order to see how the culture has answered that question. Beginning with the 1927 original King of Kings we will see an epic Jesus, a controversial Jesus, a human Jesus and a biblical Jesus. Join the discussion as we think about how we can share the gospel of Jesus with a culture that is fascinated with his story. Led by Junior McGarrahan, Parish Associate
Journey to the Cross Sermon-Based Small Communities (6 weeks)
Click here to register online for Journey to the Cross Sermon-Based Small Communities.
Experience Lent more deeply this year by forming and meeting with a small group during this season. Using the scripture from the sermon, a written guide will help small communities enter into Jesus’ journey to the cross. Small communities can meet anywhere at any time, but if you want to be placed in a Wednesday night group, come to GTW on Wednesday night, February 15. All groups are encouraged to attend dinner and the Ash Wednesday service on February 22nd, and groups will begin the week of February 26th. Contact Jennifer Holz or John Goodale with any questions.
