Marriage Ministry Opportunities
Below are short summaries of many of the marriage ministry opportunities available through First Pres. If you would like more information on an individual event or program, contact Ina Meyer at imeyer@first-pres.org.
Marriage Course: Wednesday evenings during Fall GTW. A 10-week class facilitated by Randy Eims. Couples will watch a video then discuss the topic betweeen themselves.
Why do the course?
• Regular check-ups help a car run smoothly and reduce the risk of breakdown.
• The best sports professionals spend hours being coached and perfecting their technique.
• The greatest achievements in life take practice, training and dedication.
It is the same with marriage. A strong, loving and lifelong elationship doesn’t happen by chance. It takes effort and dedication to keep the fun and romance alive. We can all learn how to make even the happiest marriage better. Cost is $25 per couple which includes workbooks and dessert.
Engaged Couples Workshop: Tuesday evenings 6:30-8pm, April 10-May 8, 2012. Topics include lessons learned from your original family; tools for better communication and conflict resolution; learning to love and forgive more freely and fully in your marriage. Cost is $50 per couple which includes an online survey and workbooks. Instructor: Anne Farrell
Marriage Retreat: February 10-12, 2012 at YMCA of the Rockies near Estes Park. Our theme this year is "The Amazing Race: Working Together to Reach the Goal". Dan and Elizabeth Jessup will be our speakers. Cost is $295 per couple. The retreat starts at 7pm on Friday evening and ends after brunch on Sunday. Check-in is at 3pm or later. Please stop for dinner before arriving as it will not be provided on Friday evening.

Marriage Mentoring (Year-round): Provides an opportunity for couples who are newlyweds, those wanting to improve, or those struggling in their marriages to have a more seasoned, experienced couple come along side to share their marriage stories so the younger couple can benefit from these experiences. The mentors are not counselors, but simply friends.
Marriage Mentor Training: An opportunity for couples desiring to mentor other couples. You will experience a day of fun and interactive training tips, gaining skills to help couples work through the challenges most married couples face.
