Spiritual Formation
Here at First Presbyterian, we use the phrase “spiritual formation” to describe the many ways we open ourselves up to the Holy Spirit’s restoring and transforming movement in our lives. We encourage each other to create this space through:
- Conferences
- Retreats and Guided Prayer Trailwalks
- Small Groups (called Covenant Communities)
- Practice of the classical spiritual disciplines
But these activities are not the goal. They are just a set of dance lessons to teach us the rhythm of the Spirit. It’s this rhythm that, as we become more familiar with it, makes us more and more like Jesus – having his character, his heart, his mind. And when we dance to his music, the world around us begins to hear the kingdom rhythm, too!
On the navigation bar to the left, you'll find links to resources designed to help you create that spiritual space that the Holy Spirit can use to do His transforming work in you.
