Are you finding yourself wanting more of an authentic experience of God? Do you want to be in a close friendship with God that allows you to think his thoughts and move according to his will? Do you find yourself spiritually hungry and desiring to grow in compassion and humility?

You are invited on a journey with other men and women who are pursuing spiritual transformation . . . people like you who are longing to experience God and life in his kingdom.  Come journey with others in an environment of support, encouragement and accountability — a place where you will ask and be asked by others, "How is it with your soul?"  You are invited to join this year's Spiritual Formation Covenant Community (SFCC) beginning Wednesday night, January 7, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

DETAILS
Participation in SFCC requires a substantial investment. Members will meet on 14 Wednesday evenings from January 7-April 22, 2009 and one day-long retreat on January 10 at First Presbyterian Church. SFCC members pledge to maintain a regular personal devotional life (we will assist you). Members also share their faith story within their small group along with their personal experiences relating to the practice of spiritual disciplines.  Outside reading is approximately a chapter a week (15 pages) for each of the 14 weeks.

Four goals form the format and curriculum for our time together:

1. We will understand and experience the dynamics of Spirit-driven growth that occur through authentic relationships in small groups.
2. We will grow in our biblical and theological understanding of how people receive and put on the character of Christ, which is spiritual formation.
3. We will learn and practice the spiritual disciplines offered by the historical and ecumenical Church.
4. We will develop our own Rule of Life to live by.

COST
The cost of $45 for SFCC covers the printed material, two books, and day retreat. Class size is limited to nine small groups; therefore, pre-registration is required.
