Christian Counseling Resources


There are times when we need the support and guidance of a Christian counselor. First Presbyterian Church is committed to helping people find the help they need. To that end, we have developed a coalition of Christian counselors. They are licensed professionals in private practice.

Mary Anderson, LCSW  (719.475.0292, 104 S. Cascade, Suite 203)

ary is a family therapist, specializing in marital, individual, and adolescent problems. She works with co-dependency, sexual abuse, divorce, adoption, blended families, post traumatic stress, and faith development.
 

Phil Bennett (719.440.2330, 10 Boulder Crescent, Suite 203A)
Phil is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, with Post-doc in Child Development, working with children, families, couples, and individuals. He specializes in areas pertaining to play therapy, development, parenting, trauma/abuse, anxiety, depression, anger, geriatrics.

George Cresswell, MD, and Board Certified in Child & Adolescent  Psychiatry (719.520.0700, 2135 South Southgate Rd.)
George specializes in adoption issues, abuse recovery, childhood depression and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. His hospital affiliations are Cedar Springs Psychiatric Hospital, Memorial Hospital and Penrose/St. Francis Hospital.

James Groesbeck,  LCSW, LMFT (719.630.2500,Sun Plaza Bldg., 104 S. Cascade, Suite 204)
James, a consultant and licensed therapist, works with motivated clients and couples seeking personal and relationship development.  As President of CoachMe International and Co-founder of Matrix Connect, he consults with organizations apropos to creative coaching and building dynamic teams.

Dee Ring Martz, LPC (719.630.7060, 315 N. Weber, Suite 200)
Dee is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in life transitions, coping with illness, loss and grief, depression and anxiety, stress management, parenting and step parenting as well as healing from traumatic experiences. She is trained in EMDR and Thought Field Therapy.

Robin Wall,  LMFT (719.635.2250, 25 N. Wahsatch, Suite 203)
Robin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in depression and anxiety, identity development and self-esteem issues with adolescents, couple counseling, family counseling, trauma recovery utilizing EMDR.
