First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs Foundation
The First Pres Foundation is a supporting organization established in 2008 to house the endowment funds generously given by the people of our church. These funds enable ministry above and beyond the annual operating budget, advancing the mission of First Pres and the Kingdom of God around the world.
The First Pres Foundation is governed by a board of directors with members elected from the congregation, the session and the trustees. Foundation Funds are managed by the Texas Presbyterian Foundation.
These Funds Create Ministry
Yearly payouts from the First Pres Foundation are used to support some of the endeavors closest to the heart of our congregation:
- Sending children and youth to camps
- Sending members of our church family to serve locally and globally
- Supporting future pastors through seminary scholarships and internships
- Training young leaders through GreenHouse Ministries
- Preventing financial crisis by covering emergency expenses
How Can I Leave a Legacy?
Any person or family can establish a named fund in the Foundation through a gift of $20,000 or more. Named funds can be short-term designated endowments or long term endowments, either designated or undesignated.
In addition, the John and Gail Stevens Teaching Church Fund is an open fund to which anyone can contribute in any amount. Named in honor of Rev. Dr. John Stevens (Senior Pastor 1971-2005), the Stevens Fund supports the equipping of young ministry professionals.
