Children in three-year-old classes learn math skills, the alphabet, and prewriting skills, and participate in many hands-on science activities. Teachers place a strong emphasis on social skills and instilling a love of learning. The curriculum is based on a weekly theme that incorporates fun children's literature.
Four/Five-Year-Old Classes
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9-12 noon
- Tuesday/Thursday, 9-12 noon
- Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, 9-12 noon
- Monday - Thursday Pre-K, 9-12 noon
Children in classes for four and five year olds learn the alphabet, rhyming (an important pre-reading skill), math and writing skills, and also participate in many hands-on science activities. Having researched area kindergartens, First Presbyterian Preschool has taken special care to incorporate all the necessary skills your child will need.
Pre-K Class
Our Pre-K Class is our most strongly academic class. Most children in this class will be able to sound out many words and read simple books by the end of the school year. Since the class meets four days per week, the children will have more opportunities to work on math and science concepts. They will also learn weekly Bible verses.
Lunch Bunch Program
We plan to offer an hour long "lunch bunch" program four days per week at First Presbyterian Preschool. This is a great option for you if you work part-time or if you need an extra hour to get some errands done or even meet a friend or husband for lunch.
If you would like your child to attend our lunch bunch program on any given day, you will just need to mark the "lunch bunch" box on your child's classroom sign in sheet. You will also need to provide a peanut free lunch for your child. Your child's teacher will take your child and his/her belongings to the lunch bunch room at 12:00. You will pick your child up at 1:00. During lunch bunch, your child will eat lunch with friends and then have the opportunity for free play in the classroom. The cost for "lunch bunch" is $5.00 per day.
Tuition
- $60/family non-refundable registration fee (first month’s tuition is also due at registration)
- $145/month for two-day-per-week classes
- $185/month for three-day-per-week classes
- We offer a 10% discount for families with more than one child attending our school
The 2011-2012 Calendar will be available in July 2011.
Parents are a vital partner in their child’s education and we encourage parents to visit First Presbyterian Preschool classrooms and facilities any time. Parents are also welcome to help in the classroom or during field trips or special events.
